A New Adventure

It is a new adventure for me to enter the world of blogging or having any type of website where family and friends can visit to see what is going on with my Crew. To bring the blog up to speed, here is a, hopefully short, synopsis.

Mike and I married in 1986. Son Jason came along in 1994. We became a full-fledged "Crew" in January 2000 when we gave birth to twins Ryan and Megan on New Year's Day. Along with the five member crew, we also had 2 dogs at home, Sasha (Husky) and Sox (Border Collie). Sadly, Sasha succumbed to epilepsy at age 15. We also had two other additions to the family just after Christmas 2005, when Jason acquired Sabrina and Ashley - two domesticated rats. Sabrina succumbed to afflictions of old age in April '07. I actually wasn't keen on getting pet rats, but I have to admit they actually have a lot of personality and have been tons of fun.

In February 2005, we moved our Crew to our first brand new home. We love our neighbors and all the kids. We love the location, living in a cul-de-sac and right next to green belt and the lake and fountain. This is what we see when we stand in our front yard:

ZOOM TO JUNE 2007.

Jason just completed 7th grade with A's & B's. Jason played football for the first time last fall, continued his musical education playing the trombone in the Honors 2 Band as well as the middle schools first ever Jazz Band. He played spring baseball with Coach Dulaney, along with Mike who was the Assistant Coach.

Megan and Ryan just completed first grade. Megan started serious gymnastics classes in December 2006 in Level 1. In early May, she had learned enough skills to advance to Level 2 classes. Also, Megan had a tempura painting selected for the School District Art Show.

Ryan began playing outdoor soccer for the first time in the fall of 2006 for Coach Rubio. They finished fall with a record of 2 wins, 6 losses. Not bad for a very green team. But they really began to gel towards the end. Ryan went right from outdoor to indoor soccer for the winter season. We really enjoyed watching the indoor soccer. It is a fast game, full of action and the kids learned so much about the game. I don't remember the record, but it doesn't matter because it was such a good experience all around. In the spring '07 Coach Rubio coached the team to a season that culminated in 6 wins and 2 losses. What a change! Ryan ran out on the field at the first game and kicked 2 goals in the first quarter! The boys also competed in their first soccer tournament and held their own against some very good teams. The tournament record was 1 win, 1 tie and 1 loss. We were just so proud of the progress made by the team.

This summer is mostly a summer for relaxation and rest. We don't have anything huge planned. We will spend a week in S. Texas with Mike's Mom when she has a bit of foot surgery, and we have a wedding to attend in August when my step-brother Jim marries his sweetheart Ronda.

I took the kids to the movies right after school was out. The boys saw SpiderMan 3 and the girls saw Shrek the Third.

Well, enough for now. Hopefully now that I have caught up somewhat, I can begin to keep up with the new fangled web blog.

Nice additions to your blog. I really need to learn how to do this. Maybe you could teach me some time. I was most interested in knowing about the soft tissue, braces - lots of good information. Has A. D and U. D written back about your blog yet?
Have a good day - your MUM - PS - how do i get my name off?
