Hail !!!

Last night about 10:15 all HAIL broke loose here! We had not seen the evening news, and in fact, were watching Dancing with the Stars on the DVR when the following seemed to occur:

The twins were in bed sleeping, Jason had gotten in bed and then gotten back out to go to the bathroom. Mike and I were blissfully watching DWTS and the house was nice and peaceful.

The next moment our house and windows were being pounded with HAIL. Nearly golf ball sized hail. There was no build-up to this either. No thunder, lightening or rain gave us early warning. Just sudden HAIL.

A neighbor texted and said her husband got hit in the head trying to get a vehicle in the garage. I heard another neighbors son got hit in the head trying to get their dog in. Another friend wrote on FB that her daughters cars had 3 holes smashed in the back window.

Crazy. Our cars were in the garage. But, it will be interesting to assess the damage as I head to guard duty this morning.

That's crazy, Jamie. I hope all your stuff is okay. We didn't get any bad weather until early this morning here in San Antonio.

I am so glad your cars were in the garage! We put James' new car in the garage as he is out of town meeting his future inlaws. The radio kept giving warnings, and when they said Dalworthington Gardens by 11:20pm---we knew Arlington would get it, too. It came earlier, but just rain.

I got out to walk the dog about 10:00 and saw tons of lightening, but very little thunder. The hail really surprised me too (and the weathermen, this wasn't predicted at all). I got pictures and will post them on my blog later today.

at 2pm today, wbap was reporting a crossing guard that was hit and killed by speeders. So sad. An elderly gentleman. Dallas. don't know more.

Okay Jamie. I guess I lied because Andy found hail in the backyard today. I must have been in a coma!

Hey Joyce,
We are all healthy - just bogged down with activities. I started having trouble keeping up with the daily post the 29th of March when I spent all Sunday evening and into the morning at the ER with my Mom and step-Dad. The kids are busy with sports and such, especially my 9th grader who plays ball everyday after school until 6:15 with either a game or a workout. Soccer and gymnastics for the other two. My twins club had our semi-annual garage sale and I spent a week gearing up for that. Anyway - I hope to get back to my regular broadcasts. I have to post about my daughter getting her braces off and stuff. Ya know? Thanks for checking in!

How was your EASTER?? Did you survive? The rolls don't disappear like they used to when the boys were teens. Now, in their twenties, they don't fight over them anymore...left over rolls are a puzzlement to me.

I forgot that James' fiancee is not used to a huge slab of steak...being from California. She was very brave.

I'm glad you are coming back in May.

How did your kids do on TAKS?

Is your school going nuts over swine flu??

I don't get swine flu---why are people in Mexico dying of it? dehydration??
