New Bedside Table

I just brought home a bedside table that my mom was getting rid of. It fits perfectly beside Megan's bed. It is made by Drexel Furniture and is pretty old. I believe my maternal grandparent bought it years ago. Megan's bedroom furniture is quite old too and it is more a cherry color. The bedside table is much lighter and not red at all. I am torn about leaving it alone - it is rather distressed from age and use. Or, trying to do something to help it look better.

The reality is, Megan is barely 9 years old. She is tough on furniture. What do you think?

This is her tall-boy dresser.

Well, you probably know where I would go with it! Any surface not glued down seems to call my name for a good coat of paint! ha ha! I think it looks great like it is, but if you're not sold on the stain, then it's always fun to paint it. You could start making all of her furniture in the room the same color - white, black, whatever...then, as time goes on, and she wants her room to look different, you can always paint over it. Just a thought. or two.

by the way, I'm super jealous, because I've been looking for a piece just like it for my sewing room.

I would be inclined to leave it in its original stain/condition. However, if you know that you would never desire to sell it as an "antique", then paint away.

I am constantly amazed at the creativity of Huse Yo Mama and Joys of Home!
